The Resume

TV ad campaign for the Dos Equis brand of beer, produced by the marketing firm Euro RSCG for Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma Brewery
Ad first began appearing in the U.S. in 2006
Actor Jonathan Goldsmith portrays the Most Interesting Man
    Narrated by 'Frontline's' Will Lyman
Tag phrases are, 'I don't always drink beer, but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis' and 'Stay thirsty my friends'

Why he might be annoying:

Nothing like having a beer commercial tell you that you have no chance of being even as remotely interesting as this guy.
Goldsmith claims his inspiration for the guy's voice is Fernando Lamas, who is a nice guy but not close to being the most interesting man in the world.
Proof that he is corrupting underage drinkers came when a man and his young son spotted Goldsmith in a restaurant, and the kid told him when he grew up 'I want to be The Most Interesting Man In The World.'

Why he might not be annoying:

The ad campaign's reasoning for the brand strategy was defined as such: 'He is a man rich in stories and experiences, much the way the audience hopes to be in the future.'
Since the commercials started airing, Dos Equis U.S. sales have increased each year between 2006-10; an increase of 22% at a time when sales of other imported beer sales fell 4% in the U.S.
Canada saw sales triple in 2008 alone.
    Naturally there's a www.staythirstymyfriends.com website.
Some of his more interesting facts include:
When in Rome, they do as he does.
He’s won trophies for his game face alone.
Sharks have a week dedicated to him.
His beard alone has experienced more than a lesser man's body.
If he were to pat you on the back, you would list it on your resume.
    He bowls… overhand.
    His blood smells like cologne.
He speaks fluent French, in Russian.
Every time he goes for a swim, dolphins appear.
He is the only person to ever ace a Rorschach Test.
He owns four sports cars, and rents five.
He once had an awkward moment, just to see how it feels.
