Why she might not be annoying:

She appeared as herself on an episode of South Park, which helped her reach a more mainstream audience and expand her fan following.
She has a huge following among novelty music fans.
She says she is not aiming for celebrity status, and is happy just to be able to release her music.
She took up singing as a hobby after her family's immigration to New Zealand, and soon began performing for audiences in hospitals and nursing homes.
All of her music is independently funded and distributed.
Despite being consistently poorly received within the mainstream, she continues to record and is able to give sell-out performances.
Her advice to music industry hopefuls is 'to be persistent, to work very hard, and most importantly, to love singing very much.'
