Why he might be annoying
He originally planned to become an English teacher, but when that did not pan out, he became an advertising copywriter.
His script for 'The Bodyguard' was rejected 67 times before being bought by Warner Brothers, then spent two decades in 'development hell,' changing from a vehicle for Steve McQueen and Diana Ross to one for Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston.
He refused to provide commentaries on the DVDs of his films.
Why he might not be annoying
He was nominated for three Oscars for writing, for 'The Big Chill,' 'The Accidental Tourist' and 'Grand Canyon.'
He works frequently with Kevin Kline (six films) and William Hurt (four).
'Wired' magazine wrote, 'With the exception of George Lucas himself, Kasdan is the person who most established what Star Wars is.'
He is firmly in the 'Han shot first' camp.
