Character actor best known for his portrayal of mental patient Charlie Cheswick in the 1975 film 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest'

Why he might be annoying:

In some of his film roles he was credited as 'Sidney' and others as 'Sid.'
Between his uncredited role in 1959's 'Capone' and his breakthrough in 'Cuckoo' he appeared in just one film over a 16 year span.
He couldn't capitalize on his 'Cuckoo' fame.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was the son of Russian Jewish parents who came to America to seek a better life.
He graduated from DePaul University with a theater degree.
While doing clerical work, he dreamed of becoming an actor like his heroes Eddie Cantor and Al Jolson, then went out and fulfilled that dream.
After his memorable scene in 'Cuckoo' where he's dragged to electro-shock therapy, the co-producer of the film gave him his own director's chair with his name on it, moving him to tears.
