Why he might be annoying:

Despite working many years in the Blues front office, he was passed over for the team's general manager's job in favor of Doug Armstrong.
Some hockey pundits felt he wouldn't receive an NHL general manager's job as a result of him being a European.
He spent the majority of his playing career in the minor leagues.
He bears a striking resemblance to the techno musician, Moby.

Why he might not be annoying:

He is the first European born and bred general manager in the history of the NHL.
He attended Clarkson University, which was unheard of for a European player in the 1980's.
He earned Eastern College Athletic Conference First All-Star Team honors in his freshman year at Clarkson (1985).
He was instrumental in drafting the core of the Blues team that underwent a resurgence in the late 2000's.
