Why he might be annoying:

    His nicknames during his playing career were 'John Shaft' and 'The Windexman.'
    He holds the distinction of being drafted by the San Diego Clippers, but never playing for them, as the franchise moved to Los Angeles weeks later.
    He had the NBA record for most career three-point attempts made without one being successful.
    He and Clarence Weatherspoon were traded for Dino Radja, but the deal was nixed after the latter failed his physical (1997).
    He spent his final seasons primarily relegated to the bench.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He left San Diego State as the school's all-time leader in rebounds, and second leading scorer in program history.
    He was a member of the first Clippers team based in Los Angeles (1984-85).
    He was remembered for a memorable duel with Charles Oakley for the NBA rebounding title at the end of the 1987-88 season, in which he captured on the last day of the season.
    He said while he was aware he may not have had a strong scoring prowess for the NBA, his solid defensive skills made up for it.
    He was a fan favorite during his tenure with the Clippers, and takes pride in his status as being the last player associated with the San Diego Clippers to play in the NBA.
