    After his 40 year marriage, he married Audrey Stone Diamond a year after becoming a widower.
    He cheated on his first wife, which is reportedly the cause of her suicide.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was married to Helen for 40 years until she died (1927-67).
    Knowing that children have a limited vocabulary and find books boring, he wrote 'The Cat in the Hat' using only 220 words.
    Bennett Cerf publisher of Random House bet him $50 that he could not write a book using only 50 words.
    He wrote Green Eggs and Ham using only 50 words and Cerf never paid the bet (1960).
