    Grew up in Lexington, Kentucky
    Best known for 'Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer'
    Released the albums 'Dr. Elmo's Twisted Christmas,' 'Dr. Elmo's Twisted Tunes,' 'Love, Death and Taxes' and 'Up Your Chimney'

Why he might be annoying:

    He is a one-hit wonder.
    He didn't write his only claim to fame.
    He originally recorded 'Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer' with his wife, Patsy.
    After they divorced, he re-recorded it solo at least two more times.
    His song has been criticized and protested by senior citizen groups such as the Grey Panthers.
    He wrote and narrated an animated special based on his song, milking it for all its worth.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He is an actual doctor (veterinarian).
    He is an avid long-distance runner.
    'Grandma' is usually one of the most requested songs of the holiday season.
    His song warns of the dangers of drinking egg nog, forgetting medication and of course not believing in Santa Claus.
    No one has to listen to his 'Grandma' song from January to November.
