    Best known as the host of 'The Merry Mailman' on New York City's WOR-9 (October 16, 1950-March, 1956) and WPIX-11 (September 25, 1961- May 31, 1963)
    Hosted WOR/Mutual Radio 'The Merry Mailman' (1953 to 1955).
    Co-hosted 'Joey & Dad' with his daughter Joey Heatherton (1975)
    Performed on Broadway in 'Babes in Arms'
    Radio Host of 'The Chesterfield Supper Club,' 'Ray Heatherton's Breakfast Club,' 'Luncheon At Sardis'
    Acted in 'H.M.S. Pinafore (1939)' and 'Pirates of Penzance (1939)'
    Hosted 'Heatherton House!' on WJZ TV Channel 7 in New York City (1949)

    He gave his daughter a man's name 'Joey.'
    His daughter, Joey Heatherton, abused drugs.
    He did not want anyone to knock The Communistic witch hunts of Sen. Joe McCarthy even though his career was almost ruined by a crazed McCarthy supporter who branded him as a 'Communist Sympathizer.'

    He didn't like anyone referring to his young viewers on 'The Merry Mailman' as kids.
    He released a record for Decca called the 'Merry Mailman,' which became the basis for his famous character.
    His son, Dick, became a radio DJ in New York City.
    He took a turn as sea captain on WPIX's 'Popeye Show' (September 8, 1956-April 13, 1958).
    He was married to the same women for over forty-five years until her death.
