The Resume

Why Survivor 29: San Juan del Sur might be annoying:

The game started with ten men, but only eight women.
Never before had the game started with an imbalanced male-female ratio (except for Survivor: Fiji, which started imbalanced only because it began with an odd number of players overall).
It was supposed to start with 20 players, but one pair of women had to pull out before filming for medical reasons, hence the uneven male/female ratio.
Former Survivor player Caleb Bankston was killed in a train accident while this season was being filmed.
The tribal reward challenges were one-on-one, rather than a team effort.
Coyopa won only one reward challenge, and the one immunity challenge that they won happened only because Drew unilaterally threw the challenge for Hunahpu.
They had two Jo(h)ns in the same game.
Hey, New Yorkers. Remember John Rocker? He was one of them.
Although Hunahpu dominated the tribal challenges, they couldn’t keep most of their rewards.
After the Hunahpus misplaced their flint, they bartered with Jeff to trade one of their rewards for new flint, only to locate their old flint back by the campfire.
Hunahpu then ran so low on rice, that they traded most of their belongings to Jeff for more rice.
They didn’t want to put up with Rocker for very long (hey, if you can’t weather the villain, you’re on the wrong show).
    They brought back Exile Island.

Why Survivor 29: San Juan del Sur might not be annoying:

The first Blood vs. Water season got such rave reviews, that they decided to have another one only a year later.
The game featured three firefighters (Jeremy, Wes and Keith).
Natalie and Nadiya, the first identical twin duo ever to play Survivor, previously competed together on The Amazing Race.
Natalie also became the first South Asian to win Sole Survivor (and the second different winner named Natalie).
One of the challenges was created by a fan who also happened to be a child prodigy (unfortunately, it was the one on which Missy injured herself).
Despite the women starting out at a numbers disadvantage, only one juror was female and the Final Three were all women.
It featured the most acts of reward transfer (where the winner gives the prize to another player) in a single season.
At least Redemption Island didn’t return.
