Sports Executive
    (1934- )
Founded/Owned American Basketball Association (ABA), World Hockey Association (WHA) and World Football League (WFL)
None of his leagues lasted longer than nine years.
He used corporate sponsors for everything, including championship trophies.
    He had weird hair.
Eight teams from the ABA and WHA ended up merging with the NBA and NHL, respectively.
He created exciting alternative leagues compared to the original leagues.
His leagues attracted established athletes, like Gordie Howe, Bobby Hull, Jacques Plante, Gerry Cheevers, Rick Barry and Billy Cunningham.
The leagues also gave a place for future superstars like Wayne Gretzky, Julius Erving, George Gervin, Mark Messier, Moses Malone and Artis Gilmore.
He created the 3-point line and slam dunk contest, which the NBA soon adopted.
He ranked #39 on Sports Illustrated's 40 For the Ages.
