    It is very suburban and industrial.
    It had an almost 40 percent population increase in the 60's, and it has been steadily declining since then.
    The Kansas City suburb Overland Park, Kansas actually has a larger population than Kansas City, Kansas.
    A couple years after the Kansas City Wizards started playing here, they changed their name to 'Sporting Kansas City.'
    A lot of NASCAR races are held here.

Why Kansas City, Kansas might not be annoying:

    It has a low cost of living, with average rent being 2/3 the national average.
    General Motors has a large plant here that produces the Buick LaCrosse and Chevrolet Malibu.
    Lewis and Clark camped here during their first expedition.
    Unlike the other Kansas City, this one is actually located in Kansas.
    If you're bored here, the 'cool' Kansas City is just across the river!
    The barbecue here is great too.
