Why Channel One News might be annoying:

    It exposes students to advertising in school.
    It advertises soda, candy and junk food.
    It also featured ads for graphic movies.
    It was banned by New York, its home state, because of its commercial content.
    It makes class periods and homeroom last twelve minutes longer than usual.
    If a school signs up for Channel One, it must show the program 90% of all school days.
    Teachers have threaten their students with detention for not watching the program.
    It is defended by many incompetent school administrators.
    Some teachers disagree with having the program shown.
    Its news anchors are hyper college students and celebrity guest anchors trying to promote their newest pet project.
    Schools only get to keep the TVs and VCRs if they show the program.

Why Channel One News might not be annoying:

    It gives students an opportunity to follow the news.
    It has undergone severe financial problems and may be abandoned by its parent company.
    It won several awards for its news stories.
    It was forced to move from Los Angeles to Washington D.C.
    One of its prime opponents, Obligation Inc., puts fake interviews with Channel One executives on its website that makes them look foolish.
    Anderson Cooper and Lisa Ling were anchors on the program before their careers took off.
