The Resume

    (January 4, 1341-June 15, 1381)
Born in Essex, England, United Kingdom
    Birth name was Walter Tyler
    Lead the Peasant's Revolt (1381)

Why he might be annoying:

Little is known of his early life.
He had trouble maintaining discipline among his followers, as drunkenness and looting broke out after his peasant army occupied London.
He was allegedly insolent to the king when he met Richard II for a parley.
Some of his followers believed he had been knighted by the king; some managed to keep their belief even after Tyler's head was cut off and displayed on London Bridge.

Why he might not be annoying:

His army destroyed tax records during their march to London.
The Lord Mayor of London responded to his alleged insolence toward the king by slashing him with a sword, after which one of the king's esquires finished him off.
Richard II quieted Tyler's followers by promising to meet their demands (tax relief, an end to serfdom, and pardons for the rebels).
Once a hastily organized militia re-established order, Richard reneged, on the grounds that his promises had been made under duress and therefore did not count.
