Object of the game:
18 players are divided into two teams.
Each episode the teams are assigned the same task.
Each team chooses a project manager (team leader) who leads the team.
The team that earns the most money (or in some cases critical praise) for the task wins.
The winning team gets a reward.
The project manager (team leader) of the losing team selects two other members of the losing team to meet with Donald Trump, Carolyn Kepcher and George Ross.
Each pleads why they should continue on but Donald Trump eventually eliminates one (or more) of them

Why Apprentice 5 might be annoying
Because Apprentice 4, did not maintain the audience of previous shows in the series, the show was moved from the coveted Thursday 9 PM spot to Monday at 9 PM.
After publicly criticizing Martha Stewart for using her daughter Alexis Stewart on Apprentice: Martha Stewart, Donald Trump hired both his son Donald, Jr. and daughter Ivanka Trump to appear on the show.
Donald Trump did a cheesy commercial appearing at the bed of Patricia Arquette cross promoting 'Apprentice' and her show 'Medium.' It was beyond obvious the scenes were shot separately.
They are continuing the policy of product placement.
Firings are arbitrary and completely at the whim of Donald Trump.
Why Apprentice 5 might not be annoying
NBC heavily promoted it during the 2006 Winter Olympics.
They attracted large corporate sponsors including 7-Eleven, Ameriquest, Arby's, Ace Hardware. Blimp, Chevrolet, Embassy Suites, Gillette, Goodyear Tire & Rubber's, Microsoft Xbox, Outback Steakhouse, Post Cereal, Procter & Gamble and Wal-Mart
It's premiere had the massively popular 'Deal or No Deal' as a lead in.
When Donald Trump, announced his son and daughter would be joining the show he quipped 'It's triple the Trump this season on The Apprentice.'
For the first time a MENSA candidate was included.
