Died in a fire at the Coconut Grove club in Boston, Massachusetts

Why he might be annoying:

While touring with the Miller Brothers Wild West Show, he married show rider Odelle Osborne in the center ring during a performance (1915).
Many of the characters he played were also named Buck.
He feuded with fellow cowboy star Tom Mix.
He disliked singing cowboys.
A Hollywood publicist spread the story that he suffered his fatal injuries when he went back into the fire to rescue others; the evidence indicates that, like most of the other victims, he had been trapped and died trying to escape.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was married to Odelle until his death.
He served with the US Army in the Philippines and during World War I.
He appeared in 160 films over 24 years.
He was proud to be 'an old-time cowboy, the sort the kids used to want to grow up to be like.'
He died at the end of a ten-city tour selling War Bonds.
