Why he might be annoying:

He and his spouse, model Teresa De Saint (1990 - current) have a common law marriage.
He began drinking alcohol at 13 and by 18 it had consumed his life.
He was only on SNL for one season because he had to go to rehab.
His role in 'Edward Scissorhands' as the thuggish bully is almost unrecognizable.
He turned down roles in 'Pretty in Pink' and 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off,' so he would not be typecast.
He was hired by Stanley Kubrick to star in 'Full Metal Jacket,' but was fired after repeatedly complaining about Kubrick's time consuming, perfectionist directing style.
He is a former brat packer.
He portrayed nerdy characters in all of the John Hughes films he appeared in.

Why he might not be annoying:

At 17, he was the youngest 'Saturday Night Live' member ever.
He first gained attention as a likeable 'geek' in John Hughes's 'Sixteen Candles.'
After quitting 'Full Metal Jacket,' he was replaced by Matthew Modine.

He is now going by his given birth name, Michael Hall.
He is a singer, plays drums and composes songs for his band 'Hall of Mirrors.'
    He briefly dated Molly Ringwald.
He spent six months studying everything he could find on Bill Gates so he could best play the role of him in 'Pirates of Silicon Valley.'
He made notable TV appearances on 'NYPD Blue (1993)' and 'Touched by an Angel (1994).'
