Why Surreal Life might be annoying:

The cast is made up of has-been's, never-was' or probably never-will-be's.
We get to see how irritating many of these people are.
It produced a ridiculous relationship between Flavor Flav and Brigitte Neilson, which spun-off their own tasteless reality show.
It tends to feature someone threatening to walk off the show (Verne Troyer, Chyna, Ryan Starr, Janice Dickinson, etc.).
Verne Troyer, got so wasted he urinated in the corner of the living room.
In its first installment on VH1 they cut the cast from seven to six housemates.

Why Surreal Life might not be annoying:

The series was created by Mark Cronin who wrote for Howard Stern's WWOR TV Show.
It revives the careers of some minor celebrities, well, maybe just for 15 minutes.
Some of the roommates have formed lasting friendly relationships.
It is a parody of the 'Real World.'
VH1 bought the series after the WB cancelled it.
