The Resume

    (December 3, 1943-October 2, 2012)
Born in Bournemouth, England, United Kingdom
Birth name was John Philippe Rushton
    Psychologist
Professor at the University of Western Ontario
Wrote 'Race, Evolution and Behavior' (1995)
Claimed that East Asians average a larger brain size, greater intelligence and more sexual restraint than whites, who in turn average higher in the categories than blacks
President of the Pioneer Fund (2002-12)

Why he might be annoying:

He had no training in biology or genetics.
His methodology and conclusions have both been widely criticized.
Anthropologist C. Loring Brace described 'Race, Evolution and Behavior' as 'an amalgamation of bad biology and inexcusable anthropology.'
One the 'scientific studies' that he cited concerning racial differences in sexual behavior turned out to be the Penthouse Forum.
The Southern Poverty Law Center described the Pioneer Fund that he headed as a hate group.
He claimed Islam is a genetic problem.
He was banned from using students as research subjects for two years after he distributed unauthorized questionnaires asking about number of sex partners, penis size and how far they could ejaculate (1988).

Why he might not be annoying:

He did not put his fellow whites at the top of the hierarchy, which is a refreshing change from the usual racial rankings.
There were calls to have him charged with a hate crime, but the Ontario attorney general refused, declaring his theories 'loony, but not criminal.'
'The Ottawa Citizen' described him as the most famous professor in Canada.
He noted that his theories applied only on a group level, not to individuals. ('Even kindergarten children are capable of learning that although boys are typically taller than girls, many girls are taller than the average boy,')
