The Resume

    Born in Los Angeles, California
    1987-89 Line-Up:
    Taime Downe, lead vocals
    Greg Steele, guitar
    Brent Muscat, guitar
    Eric Stacy, bass guitar
    Mark Michals, drums

Appear in the film ‘The Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years’ (1988)
Broke up in 1993, reunited in 2001

Why they might be annoying:

Michals was fired from the band mid-tour when he got arrested for FedExing heroin to himself (1990).
When Downe reformed the band, he changed their sound to industrial rock, alienating many older fans.
Muscat, Stacy, and Brett Bradshaw (who had replaced Michals as drummer) formed their own version of the band that played their material as it was originally recorded for a year (2006-07).
During an appearance at Rocklahoma, Downe launched a tirade in which he talked about Muscat being diagnosed with oral cancer and wished Muscat would die, then cut the band’s set short and left the stage (2007).

Why they might not be annoying:

They took their name from a Russ Meyer film.
Downe and ‘Headbangers Ball’ host Riki Rachtman were co-owners of the L.A. nightclub the Cathouse.
The video for their hit single ‘House of Pain’ was directed by Michael Bay.
Reunion bassist Danny Nordahl used to be a roadie for the <8131>Ramones<8131>.
