When he first saw Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel paintings, he disliked them.
He added himself to his own 'School of Athens' painting, among great thinkers such as Socrates and Plato.
His art was so popular that people compared him to Jesus.
Although he is famous for his many portraits of the Virgin Mary, he was an alleged atheist.
He never married.
His name was used for one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
He looked a bit like Joan Cusack.

He was about to be made a cardinal by Pope Leo X.
He was called the 'Prince of Painters.'
All Rome mourned his death.
