Attend home games at Yankee Stadium (April 18, 1923- )
    Capacity: 57,546
    Cheered their team to World Championships in 1923, '27, '28, '32, '36, '37, '38, '39, '41, '43, '47, '49, '50, '51, '52, '53, '56, '58, '61, '62, '77, '78, '96, '98, '99 and 2000

Why they might be annoying:

They feel they have some sort of 'entitlement' to win the World Series or at least play in it.
If their team does not do well in the playoffs, they consider it a horrible season.
They expect Steinbrenner to purchase every single free agent gem.
One young fan, Jeffery Maier, interfered with a ball that may have cost the Orioles a playoff victory.
They threw Reggie Bar candies at Reggie Jackson.
Since the 70's, they lived with the Yankee organization’s threats to move to New Jersey.
In an effort to sell score cards to the fans, the players do not have the names on the back of their jerseys.
Their stadium took 284 days to build in 1922-23, but over two years to renovated in 1974-75.
They argue with Cub fans, claiming Phil Rizzuto used 'Holy Cow' first rather than Harry Carey. In reality sportscaster Halsey Hall used it first in 1934.
In the '90s, they had to play some games at Shea when parts of the stadium had bricks falling.
Their stadium had monuments of Miller Huggins, Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig in centerfield. Many fans thought they were actually buried out there.
They are the most arrogant fans in any sport.
They nicknamed their stadium 'The House that Ruth Built.'
They nicknamed their team ‘The Bronx Bombers’ (sounds like terrorism).

Why they might not be annoying:

Most opposing players are in awe the first time they play at Yankee Stadium.
They were evicted from the Polo Grounds because they outnumbered the Giant fans.
Their stadium's original 490 foot centerfield was known as death valley.
They hosted baseball's first old timers days, giving tribute to former players (1939).
Usually when a team has an incidence of bad fan behavior, they will compare themselves to Yankee fans, yet Yankee fans have been involved in one of the lowest amount of incidents of bad behavior.
They resisted doing the wave for years, booing those who tried.
They started the rhythmic clapping when their pitcher has two strikes on a player (1978).
They are greeted by a 138 foot Louisville Slugger as they enter the ball park.
Freddie the Fan roams the stadium with a clanging instrument that he lets other fans shake.
Their ground crew started a tradition of dancing to the Y.M.C.A. in the fifth inning, which caught on in other ball parks.
They witnessed three perfect games, including Larsen in 1956 World Series.
They got to see Roger Maris’ 61st HR and Babe Ruth's 60th
Those who sit in the bleachers are called ‘bleacher creatures’ and they shout out every home fielder's name at the beginning of each home game.
The bleachers are friendly and many former Yankees and opponents like to sit out their and converse with the fans.
In the last inning of the last World Series game before Paul O'Neill retired, the fans continuously chanted his name.
When Derek Jeter was going through his extended batting slump of 2004, they chanted his name to encourage him every time he came to the plate.
They were promised a new stadium in December 2001 (a final act by Yankee fans and departing mayor Rudy Giuliani).
They listen to 'New York, New York' after every home game, when they win it is Frank Sinatra's version, when they lose it's Liza Minnelli's version.
