He grew his hair out into a mullet.
He was arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct after being thrown out of Kid Rock’s bar (May, 2020).
He fathered a son out of wedlock with his ex-fiancée (July 10, 2020).
He was scheduled to perform on Saturday Night Live, but was disinvited after video surfaced of him partying while ignoring COVID-19 safety protocols (October, 2020).
Why he might not be annoying
Big Loud Records owner Craig Wiseman said, ‘His voice is just so evocative – just so amazing.’
‘7 Summers’ set a record for most first day streams of a country song on Apple Music.
With ‘7 Summers,’ he became the first ‘Voice’ alumnus to have a top 10 pop single.
In his response to being axed from SNL, he admitted ‘I think I have some growing up to do,’ adding ‘I'm gonna take a step back from the spotlight for a little while, and go work on myself.’
SNL producer Lorne Michaels indicated a willingness to invite him back later.
