The Resume

    (October 4, 1943-October 10, 1993)
    Born in London, United Kingdom
Appeared in the films ‘Poor Cow’ (1967), ‘Performance’ (1970), ‘Get Carter’ (1971), ‘The Mackintosh Man’ (1973), ‘No Sex Please, We’re British’ (1973), ‘Dead Cert’ (1974), ‘Barry Lyndon’ (1975), and ‘Quadrophenia’ (1979)

Why he might be annoying:

He spent a couple of spells in Young Offender Institutions for theft.
He was typecast as either gangsters or tough police detectives.
He was suspected of deliberately spoiling scenes so filming days would run long and he would get paid overtime.
His affair with Princess Margaret broke up her marriage.
He would provoke bar fights to prove how tough he was.
He was rumored to have been running a protection racket on London pubs, possibly on behalf of the Kray twins.
    He filed for bankruptcy (1976).
He got into a fight with gangster John Darke and stabbed him nine times, killing him (November, 1978).
Prosecutors argued it was a contract killing, with Bindon being paid £10,000.
He received a two month suspended sentence for threatening a constable with a knife (1982).

Why he might not be annoying:

He received the Queen’s Award for Bravery for jumping off Putney Bridge into the Thames River to rescue a drowning man. (Although there were rumors that he had pushed the man into the water and jumped in after him only when a policeman arrived on the scene.)
He was nicknamed ‘Big John’ for the size of his penis – which he allegedly could hang five half-pint glasses off of as a favorite ‘party trick.’
Princess Margaret denied even knowing him, although she lost most of her credibility when photos surfaced of the two together on the Caribbean resort island of Mustique.
He was acquitted of the murder of Darke, convincing the jury that he had acted in self-defense.
During his trial, Bob Hoskins testified as a character witness and described Bindon as ‘like a big, gentle bear…. Lovely and cuddly.’
