Why he might be annoying:

As a child, he had quite the overbite.
He was a long-time advocate for the legalization of marijuana.
He wrote a 1976 article for Rolling Stone telling how LSD saved his life.
He considered the fact he was an only child the reason why he was always spoiled.
He was arrested for both growing marijuana and importing cocaine.
He married at 18 and would eventually divorce.
More than anything else, his full-grown height of 5'4 kept him from making a successful transition to adult actor.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was one of the few well-rounded child actors as he did stage, radio, movies and television as a child.
Before being cast as Jeff Miller, he said 'With Lassie, I'd gladly work for free.'
He was a successful software developer during the last years of his life.
His computer products in Dbase and FoxPro were used by hundreds of other developers.
Upon escorting Marilyn Monroe to the premier of 'River Of No Return,' he was Marilyn's youngest date ever.
Even though he was replaced on 'Lassie' by Jon Provost, Tommy was good friends with him.
His death was of a non-scandalous heart attack.
