The Resume

    (November 19, 1976- )
    Born in St. Louis, Missouri
    Co-founder of Twitter (est. 2006)
Founder of Square Inc. (est. May 2010)
Served as Twitter's Chairman of the Board, from 2008 to 2011
Member on the Board of Directors of The Walt Disney Company (2013 - )
Appointed CEO for Twitter on October 5, 2015
Net worth, as of May 2017, is $1.66 Billion
As of 2017, has over 4.05 Million followers on Twitter (handle: @jack)

Why he might be annoying:

He overshadows fellow co-founders Biz Stone and Evan Williams.
He transferred from Missouri University to NYU, only to drop out shortly thereafter.
He has been accused of wildly exaggerating his role in the company to promote himself as the 'face' of the corporation.
His story about 'originating' the idea for Twitter is almost never consistent (at one point he claimed the idea came to him at the age of eight).
He was replaced as Twitter CEO by Williams due to his preoccupation with Yoga and fashion design (which often prompted him to leave early).
His ousting came as such a shock to him that he briefly entertained defecting to Facebook and working for Mark Zuckerberg (who was interested, but reportedly 'didn't have a specific role in mind').
He maneuvered to oust Obvious Corp. (Twitter's earliest incarnation) co-founder Noah Glass from his CEO role, and then pretended he had nothing to do with it.
He gushed over Michael Bloomberg in a 60 Minutes interview, saying that becoming NY Mayor was a 'dream' of his (he's an on-the-record DNC donor).
He exercises politically-motivated bias in determining which accounts to 'shadow-block' (censoring and de-verifying certain Right-leaning accounts and ignoring the death threats directed at them by users).
When confronted by Matt Lauer with the charge of 'censoring hashtags' during a Today Show interview, he gave what Mark Dice called an Orwellian response ('Its our job to see that they see the most important things and the things that will matter to them').
He was very ironically suspended from his own Twitter user account due to what he called an 'internal mistake' - this after his announcing the intent post-2016 election to crack down on 'hateful content' (Nov. 22, 2016).

Why he might not be annoying:

He pilots his own planes for a hobby.
He was raised in a devout Catholic household.
He developed dispatch routing software as a teenager.
He claims to still take the bus to work in the morning.
He was named to the MIT Technology Review's Top 35 'Innovators under 35' listing (2008).
He received the Wall Street Journal's Innovator of the Year Award for Technology (2012).
He acted as a celebrity judge for Mayor Bloomberg's 2011 NYC BigApps competition.
He was at the helm as Board Chairman as Twitter became mainstream, appearing at the White House alongside President Obama to interview him for the first live 'Twitter Town Hall,' in 2011.
He declined to openly endorse banning President Trump from Twitter during an interview with Willie Geist.
He matched a $530K donation to the ACLU raised by Twitter staffers, bringing the total donation to $1.59 million.
