Why he might be annoying:

He often criticized his esteemed contemporaries, including Columbus, Vesalius (his professor), and Eustachius.
He believed that masturbation helped young men develop stronger, longer penises with better procreative abilities.
The invention of his condom was published posthumously, one year after his death (1564).

Why he might not be annoying:

He was raised in a poor family.
He attended Ferrara medical school and later taught anatomy there.
He is the namesake of the uterine tubes, more commonly known as 'Fallopian Tubes.'
He coined the terms 'vagina,' 'clitoris' and 'placenta.'
He did extensive research on the structure of the ear.
He discovered major nerves in the human head.
About circumcision, he said: 'I can testify that I have never cut nor found anyone so foolish as to be willing to suffer this torture.'
