    Defensive coordinator for Valdosta State University (2001) and the University of Alabama (2008-15)

    Running backs coach at the University of Georgia (2005)
    Safeties coach for the Miami Dolphins (2006)
    Head coach for the University of Georgia football team
    His NFL career ended after one season.
    He had a nomadic coaching career, prior to landing the head coaching position at Georgia
    He was one of the Dolphins coaches to follow Nick Saban to Alabama at the end of the 2006 season.
    His first four seasons at Georgia were remembered for having a good team, but not good enough to win a national championship.
    He likes to play golf in his spare time.
    His contributions to the Georgia football program were largely ignored by college football pundits, prior to the 2021 National Championship Game.
    He played his lone season with the Colts under Jim Mora.
    He established himself as Nick Saban's top assistant at Alabama during his eight seasons with the team.

    What made the feat even more impressive is that his Georgia team defeated Saban's Alabama one to win it all.
    He was able to prove college football pundits wrong and establish himself as a top tier head coach in his own right.
    He is among a select few to be associated with the Georgia football program as both a player and coach.
