    He shares his name with a musician of the Christian pop rock band Newsboys.
    He made 15 errors during the 1984 season.
    He struck out 110 times during the 1986 season.
    He grounded into a double play in Game 5 of the 1984 NLCS as he made the final out resulting in the Cubs losing the series to the San Diego Padres in five games.
    He was a fan favorite in his time with the Cubs.
    He was considered one of the Cubs' most popular catchers.
    He posted a career high of 94 RBI while helping the Cubs end their 39 year title drought by winning the 1984 NL East title.
    He recorded 105 assists and caught 89 base runners stealing in the 1986 season, helping him win his only Gold Glove.
    He hit over 20 home runs a season twice (1983 and 1986).
