Why he might be annoying:

His nickname was originally ‘Pie Face.’
He was invited by a scout from the Boston Braves to a tryout, but the scout forgot to inform Braves manager George Stallings who ordered Traynor off the field (1919).
During his first season with the Pirates, he committed 12 errors in only 17 games.
He never learned how to drive a car.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was the first (and as of the end of 2015, only) player to steal home during a All-Sar Game (1934).
Branch Rickey said, ‘He was a mechanically perfect third baseman.’
He was the first third baseman elected by the BBWAA to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
As a broadcaster for the Pirates, he would walk ten miles roundtrip from his home to the station, keeping up the practice well into his 60s.
