Why he might be annoying:

    He is best remembered for donning an Expos batting helmet with his Cubs uniform during the 1987 All-Star Game.
    He played on eight different teams during his career.
    He spent his prime years on poor and mediocre Cubs teams.
    His career was plagued by weight and knee problems.
    Some baseball pundits felt that despite posting impressive numbers with the Cubs, his candidacy for the Baseball Hall of Fame was tarnished as a result of playing for seven different teams after leaving the Cubs.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was considered a reliable reliever on poor Cubs teams.
    He made seven appearances in the All-Star Game during the course of his career.
    Prior to Trevor Hoffman, he held the major league record for career saves.
    He recorded his first major league hit off of Phil Niekro (1980).
    He was the second pitcher in major league history to record four consecutive 30+ saves in a single season.
