    Played for the New York Mets (1997-2002), Tampa Bay Devil Rays (2003) and Chicago Cubs (2004)
    Gold Glove Winner (1997, 1998, 1999)

Why he might be annoying:

    He referred to Mets fans as being 'too stupid.'
    He was traded to the lowly Devil Rays where he spent the majority of that season on the disabled list.
    He was often compared to Ozzie Smith while playing in the minors.
    His defensive play deteriorated after he broke his throwing arm.
    That injury cost him the chance of playing in the Subway Series.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was the second Cuban player to defect to the United States in hopes of pursuing a Major League Baseball career.
    He was an excellent defensive shortstop before the time of his injury.
    He played 101 consecutive games without making fielding errors, which became a record for MLB shortstops.
    He became a United States citizen (2004).
