    Born in Umerkot, Pakistan
    Third emperor of the Mughal Dynasty in India (1556-1605)

Why he might be annoying:

    His full name was Abu'l-Fath Jalal ud-din Muhammad Akbar.
    He never learned to read or write.
    He married his first cousin.
    During an argument, he struck down his foster brother Adham Khan and threw Adham from a terrace to the palace courtyard. When Adham survived this, he was dragged back upstairs and thrown off the terrace again by Akbar to ensure his death (1562).
    He founded a new capital city, Fatehpur Sikri ('town of victory'), only to lose interest and abandon it a decade later.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He trained cheetahs to act as hunting dogs.
    He conquered most of the Indian subcontinent, tripling the size of the Mughal Empire.
    He appointed native Indians to high-ranking civil and military posts, becoming the first Mughal ruler to gain their loyalty.
    He was a patron of the arts and culture.
    He promoted religious tolerance and eliminated the tax on non-Muslims.
