The Resume

    (September 26, 1987- )
    Born in Copenhagen, Denmark
    Rower
    Competes for the United States
Won a gold medal at the World Championships (2009)
Won a bronze medal at the London Olympics (2012)

Why he might be annoying:

He took up rowing after realizing he could not compete at a top level in his preferred sport, basketball.
During the Olympic medal ceremony, he appeared to be sporting an erection beneath his spandex shorts.
Ironically, the event he won the medal in is the 'coxless' four.
He was dubbed the 'Boner Rower.'
Gawker wrote, 'Tough luck, Gaby Douglas. Henrik Rummel's penis is the new sweetheart of the 2012 Olympics.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He is fluent in English, Danish, Swedish and German.
He said, 'I started rowing here in the United States, and so I never really even considered rowing for Denmark. I’ve spent most of my adult life here, and I definitely feel an allegiance to America.'
He denied that he had an erection, adding 'If I did have one you can bet I would've tried harder to cover it up with the flowers.'
If that's a flaccid penis, it's pretty darn impressive.
He said, 'This is a recurring problem with rowers. The spandex doesn't leave a lot to the imagination and there are many unflattering awards dock photos out there.'
For those of you wondering why those shorts are so tight, loose clothing is considered a hazard while rowing due to the possibility of it getting snagged.
Geez, get a little excited about winning an Olympic medal and suddenly the whole internet's yammering about it.
