The Resume

    (February 22, 1940-July 18, 2016)
    Born in Poughkeepsie, New York
Birth name was William Linich, Jr.
    Photographer and lighting designer
Best known for documenting events at Andy Warhol’s Factory
Appeared in the Warhol films ‘Haircut #1’ (1963) and ‘The Nude Restaurant’ (1967)

Why he might be annoying:

    He abused amphetamines.
He lived in the Factory for two years, sleeping in a closet (1968-70).
He said about adopting the name ‘Billy Name’: ‘It was always my cartoon façade, a way relate to all the attention that came to the Warhol Factory without having to be a real person.’
His photos weren’t recognized for their artistic or historic importance for decades.

Why he might not be annoying:

He gave the Factory its trademark all-silver look, with aluminum foil on the walls and silver spray paint on everything from the telephones to the toilet seats.
He served as Warhol’s right-hand man, doing anything from helping with silkscreens to arranging appointments to installing light fixtures.
One of his photos was used by the United States Postal Service to design their Andy Warhol commemorative stamp.
