Why he might be annoying:

    He shares his name with one of the members of the English boy band Northern Line.
    He spent the majority of his senior year at LSU on the injury reserve list.
    He spent the bulk of his major league career on bad teams.
    Despite being considered a cornerstone for the Pirates middle infield, he was one of the first players released at the beginning of the team’s infamous Dave Littlefield era (be glad he didn’t stay there during that window!!!!).
    Within two years after being released by the Pirates, he spent his final major league season as a member of the Tigers team that finished 43-119 (2003).
    He spent the final seasons of his professional career as a minor league journeyman.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He made the LSU baseball team as a walk-on.
    Despite being considered a write off for the 1996 season, he returned from injury in time for the playoffs and set the stage for one of the most noteworthy moments in the history of the College World Series.
    He hit a two-out walk-off home run in the which helped LSU win the 1996 College World Series, which was considered one of the first ones at any level of baseball.
    He finished second to Scott Williamson in voting for the 1999 National League Rookie of the Year voting.
    His home run which helped LSU win the 1996 College World Series earned him the ESPY Award for Showstopper of the Year (1997).
