    Assistant coach for the Denver Nuggets (1977-80), Indiana Pacers (1980-83, 1991-95), Golden State Warriors (1995-97) and the Detroit Pistons (1999-2000)
    Head coach for the Indiana Pacers (1984-86, 1988-89) and the Detroit Pistons (2000-01)

Why he might be annoying:

    He passed on a chance to play for his hometown Supersonics, despite being drafted by the team.
    He served two separate stints as the Pacers head coach, going 54-130 in both stints combined.
    His only full season as the Pistons head coach was a disaster as he watched his team regress dramatically.
    He was the fifth person to serve as the Pistons head coach in a ten year period between the tenures of Chuck Daly and Rick Carlisle.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was a standout player in the American Basketball Association.
    He guided the Pistons to a 14-10 record and a playoff berth, which earned him the head coaching job for the following season.
    He earned All-Pac honors during the 1970 season at the University of Washington.
    He was able to coach the likes of Reggie Miller in his early years and Grant Hill in his prime.
