Why she might be annoying:

She deeply resented when her sister was presented at Buckingham Palace (1896), an honor denied her because of her divorce from her first husband.
She gave her dresses over the top names like ‘When Passion’s Thrall Is O’er’ and ‘Red Mouth of a Venomous Flower.’
The publicity for the opening of the New York City branch of Lucile Ltd. was so overwhelming that one newspaper dubbed her ‘Lady Muff Boredom.’

Why she might not be annoying:

She staged the first runway show (1904).
She was the first English designer to successfully open a salon in Paris (1911).
Cecil Beaton called her designs for stage costumes ‘masterpieces of intricate workmanship’ (and copied one of her designs for Audrey Hepburn’s white ball gown in ‘My Fair Lady’).
’Vogue’ described her personal style as ‘simple, but smart to the latest degree.’
