Premise: After working in Minneapolis for four years, Rhoda returns home to New York City

The title character started out as Mary Richards’ chubby, smart-alecky neighbor on ‘The Mary Tyler Moore Show.’
It changed its opening credits nearly every season.
Ratings plummeted after Rhoda and her husband separated in the third season.
Rhoda’s parents were absent from the show for an entire year.
It was canceled with little warning in December 1978 with four unaired episodes.

Many women found Rhoda more relatable than the too-good-to-be true Mary Richards.
It made headscarves (Rhoda's signature look) fashionable.
At its peak it had higher ratings than its parent show.
Rhoda’s wedding was one of the most watched TV episodes ever.
The credits in which Rhoda tries but fails to toss her hat parody those of The Mary Tyler Moore Show.
It was nominated for 17 Emmys.
