Why he might be annoying:

He looks like a walrus.
He almost always wears a beret.
Before getting into special effects, he held a series of odd jobs ranging from machinist and chef to animal wrangler and running a charter boat and scuba diving business in the Caribbean.
He was twice named a co-champion of Robot Wars in return for withdrawing his entry, Blendo, which was considered too dangerous, due to its tendency to fling pieces of its opponents over the arena walls and into the audience (1995,97).
He asked Discovery Channel to hire Adam Savage as a co-host because, 'I'm really not sure I'm interesting enough to host a show on my own.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He received a patent for a remote control stabilization device.
He is a wilderness survival expert.
He adopted a 'keep it as simple as possible' motto on the show.
He and Savage have a good chemistry together.
After five years of Mythbusters he said, 'Instead of being jaded or doing our work as a routine, we are actually becoming more fascinated by our work.'
