TV Series
    (September 10, 1977-June 21, 1980)
    Aired on ABC
    Aired as a segment of Scooby's All-Star Laff-a-Lympics/Scooby's All-Stars (1977-80) and as a stand-alone show (March 8-June 21, 1980)
    Mel Blanc as Captain Caveman
Vernee Watson as Dee Dee Sykes
    Marilyn Schreffler as Brenda Chance
    Laurel Page as Taffy Dare
    Opening narration by Gary Owens
Premise: 'The world's first superhero' is unthawed and teams up with the Teen Angels to solve mysteries
It followed Hanna-Barbera's standard Scooby-Doo outline, with a caveman replacing the talking dog.
Captain Caveman's design copied the Slag Brothers from H-B's 'Wacky Races.'
As if there was not enough recycling going on already, the music played under the closing credits was the theme from the short-lived cartoon 'C.B. Bears.'
Dee Dee and Brenda had their names switched in the opening credits.
Forget the caveman; the Teen Angels were the hottest trio of babes on Saturday morning TV.
After the show went off the air, Captain Caveman returned as a recurring character on 'The Flintstone Comedy Hour' (1980-82) and the star of a show-within-the-show on 'Flinstone Kids' (1986-88).
It managed to get more mileage out of the 'caveman in modern times' premise than the live-action Cavemen did.
