Senior Vice President and Director of Hockey Operations for the National Hockey League (1993-98)

He frequently holds press conferences to vent his frustrations.

He has been accused of stocking his teams with goons and scrappers.
He made some questionable trades during his stints as GM in both Hartford and Vancouver.
It is rumored that he co-orchestrated the bounty on Steve Moore's head.

He turned the Canucks from a laughingstock to a contender during his stint as GM.
He is considered to be one of the NHL's more animated personalities.
He was instrumental in organizing the NHL's first regular season games played overseas (1997).

He orchestrated a complicated four way trade which guaranteed him the second and third overall picks to draft the Sedin twins (1999).
He was instrumental in the Canucks' success of the early 2000's.
