Why he might be annoying
He has an unorthodox spelling of his first name.
To make things more complicated, his full name is Aleksander Aleksandrovich Barkov and he is not actually a junior.
He spent his formative seasons on a poor Panthers team.
He suffered a shoulder injury during his draft eligible season, which caused him to miss out on the fitness portion of the NHL Combine.
He admitted to being oblivious to the surrounding communities around the Miami area, prior to being selected by the Panthers.
Why he might not be annoying
He was born in Finland to Russian parents as his father, Alexander was a member of Tappara at the time of his birth.
He was part of a solid draft class that saw him drafted ahead of the likes of Jonathan Drouin and Seth Jones and one spot behind Nathan MacKinnon.
He was the youngest player in the history of the post expansion era to score a goal in his debut game (2013).
He is fluent in the Finnish, Russian and English languages.
He was described by his coaches as being one of the first players on the ice and one of the last ones to leave it after games.
