Advocate

The Resume

    (circa 1995- )
    Born in United States
Daughter of Ellen DeGeneres's hair stylist Cheryl Marks
Family received dog Iggy from DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi (2007)
Advocated for Iggy's return to her family after dog was seized by owner of Mutts and Moms Dog Rescue agency in Pasadena, California due to adoption agreement violations (October 14, 2007)

Why she might be annoying:

Despite giving media interviews regarding Iggy, her surname was not released.
Her family received the dog in violation of a signed agreement stating that pets adopted from Mutts and Moms Dog Rescue could not be later given away without the agency's knowledge.
The agency claimed that she and her eleven year old sister were too young to have a dog reside with them.
The agency, exempting the age rule, claimed that her family refused a request to visit the office to file adoption papers to legally own Iggy.
She insisted on Iggy's return to her family, despite her family's ownership of another dog before receiving Iggy and numerous offers of a replacement dog to her family.
Her media attention overshadowed the rest of her family, who along with DeGeneres was accused of using her as manipulation in their favor regarding the situation.

Why she might not be annoying:

She had no control over adult actions regarding the situation, nor could she control the alleged celebrity influence superseding pet adoption rules and procedures.
DeGeneres stated that Ruby and her family received Iggy because they were very interested in him after DeGeneres could no longer care for him, and they were already ideal pet owners.
She and her family were traumatized by losing Iggy, who was later adopted from Mutts and Moms Dog Rescue by an anonymous family.
Her media interviews indicated her bond with Iggy and showed concern for the dog's welfare.
Her family's situation brought some of Iggy's rescue agency's policies into question and raised awareness of animal adoption need and issues.
