    Drafted 18th overall by the New Jersey Devils in the 1982 NHL Entry Draft.

    He is a recovering alcoholic.

    He was largely overshadowed by defensemen Scott Stevens, Scott Niedermayer and Bruce Driver during his career.
    He recorded 2,200 career penalty minutes.
