The Resume

    (March 3, 1945- )
    Birth name is George Miliotis
Directed 'Violence in the Cinema, Part 1 (1971),' 'Mad Max (1979),' 'The Road Warrior (1981),' 'Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983),' 'Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985),' 'The Witches of Eastwick (1987),' 'Lorenzo's Oil (1992)' and 'Babe: Pig in the City (1998)'

Why he might be annoying:

He is often confused with another Australian director named George Miller.
He often skipped classes at medical school to see movies, leaving his twin brother to take notes for him.
His first short film showed a red-hot poker being shoved into an eyeball, a man getting his head blown off with a shotgun, and several other violent scenes.
He was part of the 'Australian New Wave' of filmmakers in the 1980s (sounds pretentious).
Ironically, Mel Gibson's own movie 'Braveheart' defeated his movie 'Babe' for two Oscars (1996).
He made 'Babe 2: Pig in the City' a major contrast with 'Babe' by making it too dark and violent for children.
'Babe 2' also went over budget and failed commercially, while the first movie was a surprise success.

Why he might not be annoying:

He raised money for his first feature film by working as an emergency room medical doctor.
He allowed his own car to be destroyed in a stunt for 'Mad Max.'
'Mad Max' became a cult hit, costing around $400,000 to make and earning over $100 million worldwide.
Despite being offered numerous directing jobs after 'Mad Max,' he decided to take more film classes and work on his own screenplays.
He helped start the careers of Mel Gibson and Nicole Kidman.
His longtime producer and writing partner died in a plane crash, and out of respect Miller almost didn't make 'Mad Max 3.'
Many critics say he directed the best segment in the 'Twilight Zone' movie, outdoing John Landis, Joe Dante, and Steven Spielberg.
He said: 'I use film to tell stories. If they are beautiful, they belong to everyone. If they are bad, it is my fault and they belong only to me.'
