The Resume

    (October 3, 1987-May 26, 1990)
TV horror series featuring two twenty-something cousins and their older friend trying to retrieve cursed antiques sold by their dead devil worshiping uncle
Cast: Louise Robey as Micki Foster, John D. LeMay as her cousin, Ryan Dallion, Chris Wiggins as their friend, Jack Marshak, and in the final season, Steve Monarque as Johnny Ventura

Why Friday the 13th (TV series) might be annoying:

It had nothing to do with the Friday the 13th movies and its title was chosen strictly as a ratings ploy.
For reasons unknown, John D. LeMay's character was turned into a child in the third season and replaced by Steve Monarque's character.
No cast member appeared in all 72 episodes.
It used career TV writers and not experienced horror writers.
It used a lot of no names for guest stars.
There was no final episode to wrap things up, although the end of the series was planned well in advance.
It received no major awards or even a nomination for one.
The cast has pretty much disappeared since the series ended.

Why Friday the 13th (TV series) might not be annoying:

It did very well in the ratings, especially in its first year, when it was second among men 18-45 (Star Trek TNG was first) for syndicated series and fifth for women in the same age bracket.
The cast drove around in a classic 60's era Mercedes Benz 600 series limousine.
Over 100 actors and actress appeared in the series at least twice playing different characters, which has got to be some kind of record.
Louise Robey's character matured from a stereotypical helpless damsel in distress needing rescue every week to a capable, independent, woman of action.
The show really stretched the boundaries of televised sexuality in a well done sensual non-exploitative fashion.
It didn't over do sex/gore/violence or special effects.
It continued to do well in syndication/reruns twenty years after its cancellation.
