Why they might be annoying:

Five words: Dylan and Petty singing together.
Instead of their real names, the members went by aliases, all with the last name of Wilbury (can you say Ramones)
Some wonder the presence of Lynne in the group, considering he was relatively obscure compared to the other members.
They named their second album, 'Vol. 3.'
Even though the members had numerous hits among them, the Wilburys only had two hits.
Though there have been rumors of a third Traveling Wilburys record, it never surfaced.

Why they might not be annoying:

Orbison died of a heart attack just a few weeks after the first album's release (which was part of the reason why this group was short-lived).
The group was made up of five Rock 'n Roll Hall of Famers.
They had, arguably, the most name power and talent of any rock super group in history.
Both albums they released went platinum, with the first album peaking at #3 on the charts.
The group and first album were conceived during a recording session for a Harrison B-side.
Petty and Lynne performed 'Handle with Care' during Harrison's RNR Hall of Fame induction ceremony (2004).
