Why he might be annoying:

He wore oversized glasses in the 80s.
The first time he brought a synthesizer to the studio, he could not figure out how to get it to make sounds.
He said, 'Joining Yes was one of those stupid things that you do sometimes. It was one of the two or three times in my life that I've done something that I knew was wrong.'
He quit Yes after seven months, partly due to the difficulty of reproducing Jon Anderson's vocals in concert.
    He defended AutoTune as 'fabulous.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He was so influential on new wave music that one music critic called him 'the man who invented the 80s.'
He donated use of his studio free of charge for the Band Aid single "Do They Know It's Christmas?'
He won three BRIT Awards as Best Producer (1983,1985,1992).
