    King of Tonga (1965-2006)

Why he might be annoying:

    He weighed 440 pounds at his peak.
    During state visits to Germany, the German government would build special chairs to support his weight, which he would take home as state presents.
    He appointed his court jester to administer a government trust fund, resulting in millions of dollars being lost to mismanagement.
    He promised constitutional reforms to make the country more democratic, but died before implementing them.

    He was an accomplished athlete during his youth, setting a national record in the pole vault at age 14.
    He was the first Tongan with a college degree, graduating from the University of Sydney's law school.
    He was a lay preacher of the Free Wesleyan Church throughout his life.
    As part of a national fitness campaign during the 90s, he lost a third of his weight.
